Had my first test this week with working away from home and the key was definitely planning ahead. I travelled to Sydney on Wednesday for a work meeting and was concerned about temptation at lunch time; they always supply those yummy looking wraps and foccacia bread. Very tempting and easy to over eat so you end up regretting it all afternoon. So planning was important, I took two pre mixed shakes (one for breakfast on the plane and the other for lunch). Instead of heading straight for the food I left the building and went for a 30 minute walk with my shake. By the time I got back most of the food was gone and I wasn’t hungry, the shake filled me up. I was really pleased with myself.
I feel better than I have in a long time; I have more energy and even after only two weeks my clothes aren’t as snug fitting. This really surprised me as I thought I would have to lose more weight than I have to feel the results. I lost 0.6kg this week which is a total of 2kgs and it does make a difference.
The shakes are really satisfying and the cherry bars are fantastic, I think I am addicted to them. Trying to limit to one every second day.
One thing I have done without even realising it is, is having only had four serves of bread in the last two weeks where as I would have had four serves a day before I started on the ULTRAslim.
I’m exercising everyday for 30 – 60 minutes and loving it.
I’m going to be working away from home all week this week. So I packed my bag with 10 pre mixed shakes, a box of cherry bars, lots of water and fruit. I will have to eat out every night and am planning not to even look at the menu, just going to ask for something grilled with lots of vegies. This is going to be hard as I’ll be with other colleagues who won’t have to worry about what they eat.
Wish me luck!

1.4kg!!! I was so excited when I jumped on the scales after 7 days having had shakes for brekkie and lunch every day and eating sensibly all week. It payed off and I am so happy with my results. I was hoping for 1kg but 1.4kg was unexpected and I really don't feel like I've been on a strict diet. I haven't felt that horrible hungry feeling you get with some diets. I love the shakes and find them really satisfying and find I'm not looking for something else to eat. I work full time so it was pretty easy to stick to a routine Monday to Friday. I found the weekend a little harder with more temptations as the family wanted take away Friday night and they sent me to the local German bakery on Saturday morning for pretzels and French vanilla slices. But I was determined to be strong and wasn't tempted.
I found having my shake at my usually breakfast time and taking a piece of fruit to work for morning tea helps me get to lunch without feeling hungry. This week I walked every lunch hour for at least 30 minutes which didn't leave time to think about food.
I know you lose more weight the first week of a diet but I'm going to set a goal of 1 kg for week 2. I am really motivated now and keep telling myself if I just loose a 1kg or so a week, that adds up to a lot over 12 weeks.
Looking forward to next week,
Cathy

Due to work commitments I wasn't able to begin my weight loss programme until Sunday. So I am only 2 days into the programme. I followed the ULTRAslim eating plan on the website both days and found that I didn't feel hungry at all. I'm going to try to follow the suggestions in the ULTRAslim eating plan as much as possible so I get a feel for quantities and variety of foods. I love having it made as simple as possible so I don't have to work it out myself and I also love all the different afternoon and evening snack ideas.
When I get home from work I usually head straight to the kitchen to butter a piece of bread, so tonight instead of the bread I took the dog for a walk. I will be trying to do this as much as possible. I know the dog appreciated it!
So far so good and I am looking forward to weighing myself next week. I'm feeling very positive.

I’m feel very lucky and excited to be one of the three people chosen to be involved with ULTRAslim.
My Goal over the next 12 weeks will be to lose 2 clothing sizes (from size 14 to a size 10) I hoping for about 10-12kgs.
My main reasons to loose weight is basically to feel healthier, get back into a fitness routine and to re-establish some good healthy eating habits. I’ve gone off track through winter, only exercising once or twice a week and my food choices and size of portions is not good. I’m looking forward to getting all of this back on track.
My biggest concern is getting through the first 2 weeks. I know once I have done that and I start to see some results, that’s the motivation I need to keep going.
I’d like to ask Kathleen, the ULTRAslim Nutritionist, what are a few of the main factors she thinks are behind successful weight loss and any tips to get through the first week?
