Week Three

Posted by: michelle

This week has been another crazy week, but I’m not making excuses anymore as ULTRAslim, eating and exercise seem to fall hand in hand.

A friend of mine said he wanted to get fit and I have some exercise equipment at home, so we decided to exercise together three times a week.

Today was my first training day with him and he is a hard taskmaster, he wasn’t happy until I had built up a sweat. So I think working with him will be tough but well worth it. I have also met up with my friends for a 30 minute brisk walk three times this week and being active with kids is also a bonus.

My daughter turned eight this week and we had a Disco Party at home, so with 17 children coming over I had a lot of baking to do.  I made lots of treats for the children to enjoy,  I also made a slice for the adults which I decided in the morning if I didn’t snack on the kids food I was going to allow myself to have a small piece of slice. I found that worked for me as normally I wouldn’t think twice about tasting everything and picking all day. I enjoyed my slice and went for an extra 4km walk the next day.

My husband is very supportive, he has made some lovely tasty dinners with plenty of vegetables. We did go out for dinner and I ordered a small steak and mixed vegetables. I was half way through eating and found I was full which was amazing because a couple of weeks ago I could of eaten all of it without evening blinking.

ULTRAslim is really satisfying and stops me from feeling hungry during the day. I am starting to get into a routine now which is important to help me stay focused.

Week Two

This week has been a busy week but I’ve found plenty of ways to exercise this week. I finally went for my first walk which was cold and brisk but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was puffing quite a bit so getting fit is definitely a must. The same afternoon I also went for a walk with a friend while our daughters were having their dancing lesson.  I then missed a couple of days of exercise due to doing a course in the city, leaving at 6.30am and not returning until 7.30pm. However I was back on track the next morning meeting four other ladies for our cold and brisk walk again.

While my son Benjamin was playing tennis, my other son Thomas and I went bike riding for an hour, it was much better than sitting in the car waiting. We had so much fun racing each other; he won’t be able to beat me for long. Then at the end of the week my daughter rode her bike while I walked 3km. So this week I have spent a lot of quality time with my children and friends and exercised at the same time, that’s what I call the best of both worlds.

Food this week has been great, I tried the “Chicky Burger” and it was delicious. I also tried the beef stir fry which I now make quite frequently as it’s just so quick and easy. I just mix and match the meat and vegetables. I find that having the ULTRAslim milkshakes for breakfast so convenient and when I’m drinking them I cannot believe I’m on a diet. One morning I put a small banana in with the vanilla shake and blended it, it was very smooth, creamy and tasty.

I’m looking forward to this week coming as it is very busy with work and parties.

Week One

My first week has been a bit challenging, after a couple of days of healthy eating, I woke with a severe migraine and was unable to have the shakes for a day and my son Thomas made me some toast for lunch and my husband Ross made me a light stir-fry for dinner, but I was back on track the next day.

I didn’t end up meeting my friend for a walk (due to being sick), so this week I have planned 2 walks so far. My daughter wants to teach me a dance so I figured that we can spend quality time together and exercise at the same time.

I was at a children’s birthday party on the weekend with lots of tasty food, that was my first challenge I did pre-plan and took a ready made milkshake with me and a piece of fruit but I wanted to feel in control and I went and had a look at what food was there, it looked lovely but just not worth it. It pays to pre-plan and stay focused.

I think I just need to concentrate on each day because at the moment it still looks like it’s a long way until I feel good, I’m just trying to keep focused and take each daily challenge as it comes.

Questions for the ULTRAslim Nutritionist Kathleen:

Is ULTRAslim a low carb diet?

Coffee or decaf, which is the better choice (if any)?

Can I have Decaf or coffee in the morning as well as a shake and do they have calories besides the milk?

Can I put Decaf or coffee in with my vanilla flavoured milkshake or even my chocolate to make Mocha flavour?

Today is the first day to the rest of my healthy life.

I tried my first chocolate shake for breakfast and the only way to describe it was YUM!!! My children were watching me and they kept asking me “Mum is it nice?” and “What does it taste like?” I couldn’t answer them straight away as I was thoroughly enjoying my guilt free indulgence.

I am looking forward to my weight-loss journey.  I will need to work out the best way to fit exercise into my day.  I am meeting a friend tomorrow and we are going for a walk instead of our usual sitting around drinking coffee so that is a small decision that can make a huge difference.

I have been looking at all the recipes ULTRAslim have in their eating plan and I’m looking forward to trying them all especially the stir-fry’s and the country potato.

I am feeling very excited about using ULTRAslim.  I need to concentrate on the journey, but I am certainly dreaming about the future.
